They were also the first company to introduce the invisible in the canal style hearing aids late in 2010. Other manufacturers have since followed suit in order to remain competitive.

Latest Hearing aids from Starkey

Starkey has been hard at work developing new hearing aid technology to compete with some of the best in the world. The have just released their X series during the latter part of October 2011, which includes their proprietary frequency lowering technology, called Spectral IQ. This brings Starkey Hearing aids in line with the SoundRecover feature of Phonak as well as Widex Hearing aids' Frequency transposition. These hearing aid technologies allows a user with high frequency hearing so poor, that conventional hearing aids can't amplify those frequencies, the ability to hear sounds produced at those frequencies at lower pitches. This often leads to improved speech understanding in quiet and noise for these clients.

Starkey's X-Series 11 replaces the S-Series- 11, while the X-series 9 replaces the S-Series 9. X Series 7 replaces S-Series 7 etc. Fortunately the price has remained the same. A few less significant features which has also been introduces with the new X-series release are Self Learning and Voice IQ2. Self Learning allows the hearing aid to track user volume changes in various situations and learning what the user prefers. It then applies these volume changes it has learned once the hearing aid user finds them in a similar situation. Voice IQ2 is a tweak of the original Voice IQ, making it faster and more accurate.

Starkey has also updated their wireless range including the Wi110, Wi90, Wi70 to include these new features as well. Any of these Starkey Wi range of hearing aids bought before this new release can also be updated by your audiologist.

Starkey is also released a new range of X-Series SoundLens hearing aids, which receive these features. The range includes SoundLens 11, SoundLens 9 and SoundLens 7. SoundLens is a very small in the canal hearing aid, classified as an invisible-in-the-canal hearing aid. A brand new min  behind the ear hearing aid, much smaller than Starkey;s previous offerings is the new Xino, which is on par with the smallest behind the ear hearing aids of most other manufacturers. The Starkey Xino also contains the x-series technology.
