Almost all hearing retail aid companies out there are generalists servicing a whole range of clients and providing a whole long list of services. This means that the less profitable services and products need to be covered by the other products which have more potential for higher profits. Thus they often choose to mark up privately sold hearing aids with massive mark-ups, while actually spending less time with these clients than with the low income generating government clients, where they are contractually bound to provide a certain level of service. In our view this is completely unfair.
