Question:

Is there a way to change the default setting in the Widex App? Every morning it is at the Universal 5 level. It is a real pain to move it to 6 or 7 and adjust the equaliser settings.

Answer:

This client has an issue where every morning they've got to turn on their Widex app and make changes to the volume as well as the frequency shaping, so changing the highs and lows etc.

The question was can they make those changes permanently through the app.

The answer to that is simply ‘no’.

The default of the Widex app is based on the settings your clinician set to your hearing aids the last time you saw them. So the answer to this is you need to return to your clinician and show them what you do on the app every morning.

Then the clinician can make changes in their part of the software so that when your hearing aids start up they start up with those settings already applied.

It’s a little bit inconvenient but the reason for that is the manufacturers really want to still leave the control with the clinician because you can cause damage to your ears if you adjust things permanently and they're not right.
